Nausicaa, the French National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France) opened in 1991 and has welcomed over 19 million visitors.
Nearly 30% of them from overseas, and it attracts visitors within a radius of less than three hours’ travel time.
Indeed, NAUSICAA is much more than just an aquarium.
It is a unique centre for the discovery of the marine environment which is fun, educational and scientific all at the same time, focusing mainly on the relationship between mankind and the sea.

This supports the centre’s main goal of raising public awareness and the need for better management of our oceans and the resources in them.
