Nausicaa, the French National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France) opened in 1991 and has welcomed over 19 million visitors.
Nearly 30% of them from overseas, and it attracts visitors within a radius of less than three hours’ travel time.
Indeed, NAUSICAA is much more than just an aquarium.
It is a unique centre for the discovery of the marine environment which is fun, educational and scientific all at the same time, focusing mainly on the relationship between mankind and the sea.
With giant fish tanks, undersea exploration and cutting-edge technology all contributing to the magic of this magnificent setting, there’s everything you need here to inspire dreams. In addition, there’s plenty of amazing information on hand, plus a documentary resource centre, films, seasonal exhibitions, conferences, educational programmes and activities, in fact everything you need to understand and learn is here. This supports the centre’s main goal of raising public awareness and the need for better management of our oceans and the resources in them.
